TED Tuesday #5: Don't Build Your Home, Grow It!

The part of me that want to live in a hobbit hole or a functional tree-house says I want. Theoretically doable in a mild climate environment with a community of patient future residents.

But a not-meat house? Really?

The Leap Year Question

He said yes :3

The truth is, he is the romantic one in this relationship, so I didn't want to take that away from him. But I wanted a piece of the tradition, if only because everybody else was hyping over it. I got confirmation that it will be this year.

It would not surprise me if he waits until the Hobbit to come out at the end of the year.

On a side note, I was very excited to receive 40+ likes for the photo on Facebook, thank you everyone that enjoyed my moment with me :)

TED Tuesday #4: Are Mushrooms The New Plastic?

A bio-degradable product that functions just like plastic, how's about that eh.

Many people have picked up on how the process of making these foams uses a lot of plastic - the containers that transport the organic material to the factory, the molds and other mechanical parts, the PPE workers wear. WTF. This world is not (yet) perfect, and the concept is brilliant. My concern would be more towards introducing a new species to an unfamiliar environment, what kind of an impact the organism inside the product will have on where it is disposed. Hopefully it is a microscopic concern, compared to the more popular option of carelessly using forever-plastic.
